Chinati Art Museum
A contemporary art museum founded by Donald Judd (1928–1994).

Chinati Art Museum (formerly the Chinati Foundation) is a contemporary art museum located in the small desert town of Marfa, Texas. Based on the vision of founder Donald Judd, the museum is dedicated to preserving and showcasing a collection of large-scale installations by a select group of artists.

“As a museum in which art, architecture, and the land is inextricably linked, Chinati is in a unique position to invite visitors to experience Chinati outdoors.” The logo reflects the immersive space where visitors can engage with art, architecture, and the natural environment.

    The dynamic logo system

draws inspiration from Judd’s signature vocabulary of forms—Stacks, Boxes, and Progressions—conveying the museum's remarkable experiences. The color palette is curated to echo the iconic architecture of Chinati and the enchanting hues of the surrounding landscape and natural lights.
